Hey, I'm Emma
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
Several years ago I relocated here with my family, and what began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
The Beginning
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in our long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — fresh processes, new routines, evolving expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Created Lily Bridge Lagoon
Most online content was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A paid-review platform
- A generic travelogue
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Switzerland goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue documenting what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Emma
